Ms. Borden Welcome to General Science Goals:
1. To use science as an avenue to develop critical thinking, and inquiry based skills
2. To understand the basic concepts in general science: chemistry, physics, earth and space science and ecology.
3. To become motivated, active learners.
Behavior expectations-
1.All school policys regarding attendance, disciplinary action and behavior will be followed.
2. Students will be on prepared with all their materials and writing utencils for the day.
3. Studners will be on task and focused on the lesson.
4.Respect of your peers and your teacher will be the priority of the classroom
5.There will be no tolerance for inappropriate language, cell phones, and food in the classroom
6. Late work do to an absence will be accepted for full credit on the next available day, after that it will be accepted for 70%.
Performance Assessments:
Final grades will be awarded based on the points earned on a collection of the following types of assignments:
- Test scores – given at the end of each complete chapter, based on 100 points.
- Quiz scores/Homework assignments – based on a 25-point range.
- Written assignments - will be graded using the academic rubric for written assignments.
- Lab grades/lab reports – based on 100 points.
- Individual projects and computer searches and utilization – will vary according to the amount of preparation required for the project.
The assignment of letter grades will follow the grades outlined in the student handbook.
